Sweet hibernation
Dormancy at its peak, yet;
Supraliminal
As I tiptoe to click her
She smiles in her siesta

Fast asleep yet conscious always... that's our #lab Bella! #Tanka #Japanese #poetry Click To Tweet

I was busy doing some work around the house this morning when I suddenly noticed how peacefully Bella was sleeping. She refused to look up when I went near her to get a closer look and admire her cuteness. One would think she is fast asleep. But as I quickly clicked a couple f pictures, she realised I was around, and without even opening her eyes or changing her position, she merely wagged her tail once to acknowledge my presence and show me the invisible ‘DO NOT DISTURB’ sign around her neck. Couldn’t help but dedicate a Tanka to honour her cuteness quotient.

A Tanka is a a Japanese poem consisting of five lines, the first and third of which have five syllables and the other seven, making 31 syllables in all and giving a complete picture of an event or mood
